Moving services Web site Relocation.com tallied where Americans moved in 2008. Michigan and Ohio lost the most residents. For every 100 people moving to Michigan, 210 moved out. For every 100 relocating to Ohio, 150 left. North Carolina welcomed the most newcomers. For every 100 people leaving, 180 moved in. Cities with more than 1 million people that got the most newcomers were: - Las Vegas

- Charlotte, N.C.
- Phoenix/Mesa, Ariz.
- Portland, Ore.
- Seattle
- Orlando, Fla.
- Washington, D.C.
- Atlanta
